Pleasant, multi roomed beamed interior where barrels serve as some of the tables - which got a thumbs up from the beer tasting team.  There are two bars and food is served during the day. Market Drayton's oldest pub - this used to be called Jack Hanby's Place. A popular local with original exposed floorboards. We must have visited on a bad day, the Salopian Golden Thread was definitely not right. Darts. There was a lively game of dominoes going on. Pool room at the back. Situated on Stafford Street. Closed Jun 2016 -  Comfortable and popular pub on the outskirts of town. A real fire, car park, food served, restaurant area. The Sunday roast lunch was the largest serving we can remember.
